At Sail Loft Studio we have a passion for quality and beauty. Our timber stock is carefully selected from windblown trees or timber from sustainably managed forests in Scotland. It is stacked and left to dry for at least two years before being rough turned into blanks which are stacked for a further six months. Only then are they turned into things like tea jars, vases, mushrooms and other items. They are then painted or delicately stained before being coated with up to ten coats of food safe lacquer. Sanding back between each coat. Then each piece is painstakingly burnished to a high sheen. Only this level of attention to detail will produce such a high quality finish and silky feel to each piece. Making them a possession that will last for generations.
